Singer, songwriter, guitarist, actor and playwright.

Bernie Laverick began his musical journey back in the 1970s playing lead guitar in a string of original rock bands most notably The Crack whose single Easy Street was released in 1980.

Since the late 80s Bernie has sung in numerous cover bands and is now the man behind the mic in the energetic electric folk band The Black Pearls.

In 2003 Bernie became an active part of BBC backed writing/ production group The Hull Blokes staging 11 comedy sketch shows and 2 full plays in his 5 years as a member. Bernie continued writing and in 2012 was commissioned to write and perform the music for Hull Trucks 40th anniversary production City of Light  and has gone on to perform in several local productions.

When Bernie isn’t acting or singing with The Black Pearls he is working on his current project, a musical play based on the life of Marina Oswald, the widow of the alleged JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.

As a singer/ songwriter Bernie can also be found playing solo acoustic gigs in and around Hull and has just performed on the brand new single City of Pride from local band Hulligans.
